The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announces that the amendments to the Labor Law will come into effect starting tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 Sha’ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 19, 2025. This implementation is based on Cabinet Decision No. (117) issued on 2 Safar 1446 AH (06/08/2024 AD), following Royal Decree No. (44) dated 8 Safar 1446 AH (12/08/2024 AD). The amendments aim to enhance job stability and improve labor market efficiency to meet the needs of the private sector.
The new amendments include revisions to 38 articles of the law, the omission of seven articles, and the addition of two new articles. These changes contribute to developing contractual relationships between labor market participants, ensuring their rights, and fostering a more attractive and stable work environment in alignment with the Labor Market Strategy.

The ministry emphasized that these amendments are part of ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting national economic growth, increasing employment opportunities, and enhancing the private sector’s role in development. Additionally, the ministry confirmed that the executive regulations and other relevant bylaws will be issued in conjunction with the amendments taking effect tomorrow, as per the Cabinet decision.
